“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
Missions
We at Covenant Presbyterian Church view our supported missionaries as our partners in carrying out the charge to the global Christian Church to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ telling people of his birth, death, and resurrection to fulfill God’s promise to provide the way of redemption and salvation to all who hear and obey that Good News. For over 40 years, the congregation at Covenant has supported missionaries to neighboring Atlanta, counties in the southeastern U.S., universities in the United States, countries in North, Central and South America, and to communities in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
As a church, we believe that supporting local and foreign missions is a crucial component of our ministry at Covenant Presbyterian. It is through our missionaries that we support the proclaiming of the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. We believe that the purpose of making disciples is to bring glory to God through proclaiming his word, worship, prayer, utilizing God-given talents, and sharing of resources (people, time, and finances).
The Missions Committee of Covenant Presbyterian Church reviews each of its congregationally supported missionaries and opportunities for potential new support annually according to its Missions Committee Policy Handbook (2020 edition) and makes recommendations for funding to the Session for budget approval and authorization.
