Lou Salzmann - Elder Emeritus

11/1/2011

WHEREAS, Elder Louis F. Salzmann, devoted servant of God, has faithfully served Covenant Presbyterian Church for over    27 years.  During that time he has served as elder, teacher, choir member, Christian Education chairman, and preacher.  Elder Salzmann has served on numerous committees including a Pastoral Search Committee, and served as a pastoral assistant to a former senior pastor;

and, Whereas, Elder Salzmann is a gifted leader in all areas of Christian Education, including teaching Sunday School classes and leading small groups;

and, Whereas, during this period, God has drawn the congregation together through Elder Salzmann’s wisdom and ministry, to glorify Him and serve Him in love, and has used Elder Salzmann’s life’s testimony to grow, nurture, and impact a whole generation of Covenant members;

and, Whereas, he has earned our complete trust by faithfully and conscientiously being dedicated to worship;  teaching, and serving the congregation and staff of Covenant Presbyterian Church;

and, Whereas, Elder Salzmann has maintained a long lasting relationship with Covenant’s Session and congregation, and as an elder faithfully serving and tending his sheep, serving out of a love for Christ which sustains his unfailing commitment;

and, Whereas, we are a flock of unruly sheep, quick to wander and often entangled in the world's thorns.  But Elder Salzmann, a faithful servant of Christ and man of godly wisdom and integrity, has lovingly and faithfully been shepherd, teacher, listener, comforter, counselor, administrator and dear friend to all.  Even as Christ laid down His life for the Church, Elder Salzmann has
given himself in devoted service to this flock.

BE it therefore resolved that the Session of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Fayetteville, Georgia, expresses its heartfelt appreciation, gratitude, and high acclamation to Louis F. Salzmann, and in recognition of his exemplary and faithful service
to the Lord and to Covenant PCA, commends him as ELDER EMERITUS;

AND, that it be further resolved, we give all honor and praise to our Sovereign God for Elder Salzmann’s humble, dedicated,
and unwavering service to the church and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Adopted by the Session on October 4, 2011.
