Duties, responsibilities, work emphases
Stephen is the RUF Campus minister at Emory University in Atlanta serving there since 2011 after graduating from Reformed Theological Seminary (Atlanta campus) in 2010. He plays a crucial role in mentoring students in their Christian faith and through their struggles. As a former real estate agent, Stephen brings a dose of reality and practical experience to the academic world as well as being a keen listener and conversationalist to help others see and understand what they need to see and understand. A student once characterized him thusly, "His charisma and attention to the students in RUF is so welcoming; he makes people feel seen and heard."
A little bit personal: Stephen enjoys fly fishing, sushi, and The Name of the Wind (the first book in the Kingkiller Chronicle series by Patrick Rothfuss). Lesley is an RN at Piedmont Hospital

Prayer needs (or points of focus):
- Pray for Stephen and his staff and interns as they learn to develop, sustain, and expand their virtual ministry during this Covid-19 episode.
- Pray for their continued health and strength, especially as school resumes in earnest beginning August 19th.
- Pray for Stephen’s wife Lesley as she continues her support of the RUF Emory work AND her service as a nurse at Piedmont Hospital.
- Pray for the students involved in the RUF ministry and the uncertainty about their short- and long-term future plans.
- Pray for all the students at Emory that this time of confusion, fear, and anxiety will cause them to place their trust in Jesus
- As the students begin or resume classwork this fall, pray for the RUF Emory ministry as it turns 20 years of service this coming October.
- Pray for Stephen and the RUF ministry to be able to stay on top of all the facets of their ministry, with probable multiple changes in their new-normal routine.
- The number one prayer request we get from their believing students is to have a stronger desire for time in God’s Word and desire for prayer. So, pray for increased desire and self-discipline for their students.
