CONGRATULATIONS

To Cheryl Frye, who has been honored as the “Nurse of the Year” by Southern Regional Medical Center.  Cheryl is the daughter of Bob and Joan France, sister to Craig France; she and her family are regular visitors.

SUMMER SCHEDULE

Starting May 25 we will have a joint worship service at 11:00 AM.

PCA 50 DAYS OF PRAYER

This program of daily devotions and prayer items begins May 1 – just a few books are now available on the foyer table.

GRADUATION SUNDAY

On May 18 we will recognize our high school graduates.  We would like to have a complete listing to put in the bulletin of high school and college graduates; please submit information on the Attendance card or call the church office.

VISITORS

If you have been visiting Covenant Church recently, Pastor Myers and his family wish to extend to you an invitation to their home for lunch on Sunday, June 1 after the 11 o’clock service.  Please call the Church Office if you are able to attend

AN EVENING NOT TO MISS -- JUNE 1  at  6 PM

SALADS!

Please bring a SALAD at 6 PM and enjoy a meal together as a congregation.  Suggestions:  pasta salad, fruit salad, vegetable salad, toss salad, cole slaw, etc.   Bread, dessert and beverages will be provided.

 MUSIC!

The very talented, musical family, the Himebooks, from The Rock PCA in Stockbridge, will put on a concert in the sanctuary.  They sing, play the piano, guitar, flute, trumpet, trombone and compose!  A love gift will be taken in appreciation for their concert.

SPECIAL CELEBRATION

We are invited to worship with our church plant in Henry County, South Point Church, on Sunday, June 22, at 5:30 PM.  This is a milestone in the life of this young church, when they will officially become a “particular” church – as opposed to being a mission church.  Rev. Matthew Means is the organizing pastor.

Special Event

The Southwest Christian Hospice is having their 16th Annual Benefit Dinner on Friday, August 22  -- an evening of great music, songs, worship and sharing with Michael W. Smith, the popular Christian recording artist, winner of multiple Grammy and GMA Dove Award, worship leader and composer.  Limited space -- call now to get tickets!  Janice Wright 770-969-8354, ext. 222.

Golf Tournament

This fund raiser for Lynn Wheeler is scheduled for Monday, July 14 at 9 AM.  They are looking for Hole Sponsors and Donations.  Contact JoJo Starr or Jack Stillman.  More details will be available soon.

 

 

 
SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES FOR ALL AGES

Every Sunday morning between 9:45 and 10:45 am  -- a nursery is provided.

Adult Classes:

The new organization of the classes is by generations but all using the same material; each class with a teacher and a leader.  The book all 4 classes will be studying is "Living in Christ's Church" by Edmund P. Clowney.

 
KINGDOM FOCUS PRAYER TIME

Wednesdays at Noon – stop wherever you are at to pray or join Pastor Myers in his Church Office.

Vacation Bible School

Save the week of June 16-20 for the Summer 2008 Olympiad VBS for ages 2 years through those that have completed the 5th grade.  See the Children's page for more information. Students and teachers and helpers are needed!

 
ON-GOING PROGRAMS

All Pioneer Clubs, Youth Group and Sunday night Small Groups now meet on Sunday evenings, 6 PM at the Church. Come and join the fun and fellowship! Children and Youth -- check out the special new things happening listed on the Children's page.

Pioneer Clubs

6 to 7:30 PM.  For ages 2 through the 5th grade -- a Nursery is also available. See Children's Page for more details.

 
Small Groups

The list of choices is under "Adults" -- please go to that section.  Join a group that fits with your schedule. Check with your leader on the summer schedule (some will not be meeting during the summer).

 

A Young Men’s Discipleship Group   (20ish to mid-30s)

This group will meet on Thursdays at the pastor's home .  If you are interested or have questions, please contact Pastor Myers at the church or at his home.

Youth Sunday School

Benji Starr will teach the Middle School class and Jamie Lambert will teach the High School Class. Starting May 4 - Training sessions begin for VBS and Children's Church -- this is for ALL youth even if you will not be helping in either event.

The ROCK - Youth Group

Grades 6 - 12 are encouraged to participate

Sunday evenings at 6 pm -- meeting at the Covenant House, continuing the study "Why We Are Protestant"

May 11 - NO youth group ( Mother's Day!)

May 18 - Blow Out Party (final meeting until fall)

High School Girls Small Group

Meet on Wednesdays, 7:30 PM, at the Lambert home.  Questions?   Call Bethany Lambert
