THURSDAYS AT COVENANT

POOL … PICINIC … plus an interesting STUDY at 7 p.m. (you can be on the way home while it is still light)

The pool will be open -- opens at 3:00 PM.

Picnic (about 6:00 PM):  Grills will be set up and ready if you want to grill out --  or bring picnic food from home --- or stop by your favorite drive-through to grab something for supper.

The study is a new series by Focus on the Family – the Truth Project called “True U”.  It will challenge you with the question, “Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?”

  •  Why am I here?

  • What is the meaning of life?

  • Can we prove the existence of God or are we left to grapple in the dark and take blind leaps of faith about what we believe?

Maybe you think you have the answers.  But can you and your children defend your beliefs when peers, teachers, or college professors are challenging your worldview?  This series will pit worldviews in the quest to decide which one gives the best answer and provides the tools you need to defend your faith and become a world changer in an increasingly hostile culture.

These informal Thursday evenings of fellowship are a great way to reach out and invite friends and neighbors who don’t attend Covenant Church to come and get to know us. Plan to come, bring your family and invite your friends.

CELEBRATION OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

We will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper on Sunday, August 8.  Set aside time for heart preparation.

FAYETTE SAMARITANS

July is the month for Covenant Church to provide pantry items for this local non-profit organization serving those in need in Fayette County.

Fayette Samaritans is an all-volunteer Christian outreach ministry serving those in need in Fayette County.  Fayette Samaritans is supported by Fayette County member churches, local civic organizations, the United Way, and individuals and families.    Fayette Samaritans provides food from the food pantry, clothing and financial assistance for selected emergency needs.

What to bring?   “Most wanted list” includes canned meat, tea, toilet tissue, mayonnaise, catsup, hand soap, rice, pasta, instant mashed potatoes, jelly.

Clothes:  children’s summer clothes, sizes 2T – 6; boy’ shirts and shorts, sizes 8 – 12; girl’s tops and dresses, sizes 7 – 14.

There is a box for your contributions in the foyer area – please be generous as there are many needy families in Fayette County.  DEADLINE for bringing your contributed items will be Sunday, August 1.

PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER

This local ministry is again in need of diapers and wipes.  They desperately need diapers in every size except #1 and wipes.

When the last request was made about 9 months ago, they were “showered” with gifts and thousands of diapers have been distributed and hundreds of babies benefitted.

Please bring your gifts to put in the box in the foyer.  Discount coupons are also appreciated.  They can use all diaper brands, but Pampers and Huggies are particularly desired as some babies are allergic to other brands. Money gifts are also most welcome – make the check out to Covenant Church and mark on the memo line “Pregnancy Resource Center.”
